The intra-Afghan talks between the government delegation and Taliban will begin on 26 Asad  (16 August 2020) in Doha-

The issue raised after peace consultative Loya Jirga (grand assembly) decided to release 400 dangerous Taliban prisoners. The consultative Loya Jirga kicked off on 7th of August and concluded on 9th with participants approving the release of the remaining 400 Taliban prisoners.
“In the next few days, we expect the completion of prisoner releases, then travel of the Islamic Republic team to Doha, and from there the immediate start of intra-Afghan negotiations,” said US Special envoy Zalmay Khalilzad. The Taliban group also welcomed Loya Jirga decision, saying that the first round of talks will be led by Abbas Stanikzai, the former chief negotiator of the Taliban during their talks with the United States.(20200810)

Intra-Afghan peace talks that were expected to begin in Doha August 16, 2020 has been postponed indefinitely, a member of the government's negotiating said on August 15, 2020.
