Ihsanullah Janat was born 1997 in Khost Province, Afghanistan. He is a professional Afghan cricketer. He is a right-handed top order batsman.

Janat became famous as a prodigy as he played the 2016 U19 World Cup. Although, due to limited chances, he could make a mark in the competition.

 

He made his First Class debut for Afghanistan against the Netherlands in the Intercontinental Cup in July 2016. On the basis of his performance in the lower levels and his classical strokeplay, he was awarded with an international debut within a year after his First Class debut.

 

He made his List A debut in an ODI against Zimbabwe on 24 February 2017 at Harare. The visitors scored 111 in the first innings in a rain-affected game. Ihsanullah got a 20-ball duck. Zimbabwe coasted to a win with 7 wickets in hand and 118 balls to spare.

 

He made his Test debut against Ireland at Dehradun on 15 March 2019. Afghanistan took a 142 run lead after Ireland were bowled out 172. Ihsanullah scored 7 in the first innings. Ireland bettered their effort in the second innings and scored 288 setting a target of 147 for Afghanistan. The debutant remained unbeaten on 65 in a successful run-chase.

 

Janat played for the Boost Region team called Boost Defenders in the Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day Tournament in 2017.

Insanullah Janat a prominent top-order batter for Afghanistan, has been banned from all cricket-related activities for five years due to corruption charges, the Afghanistan Cricket Board announced on Wednesday August 7, 20224.
