3. Biodata:

Baryalai Helmand was born on December 4, 1982 in Kajaki district of Helmand province. He has lived in Pakistan, India and Afghanistan. He has a Bachelor of Arts in political science from University of Delhi, India; Masters of Public Administration from University of Rajasthan, India.(2008-2010) Prior to his current appointment, he was founding director of Helmand Radio Station from Sabawoon media group which is comprised of three media outlets; Radio Sabawoon, Sabawoon Television and Radio Muska. Sabawoon Media group established in 2004 has the largest viewership and listenership in Helmand province.

In 2004 he established the first culture society in Helmand, published the first quarterly magazine and established the first commercial radio station in Helmand province. Helmand is also the founder of the annual poetry festival of Helmand Sind which is organized each year and poets from around the country participate.

Helmand participated in London Conference on Afghanistan, 2014 as elected civil society activist of southern Afghanistan.

After completion of his higher education in 2010, he worked on several national and regional development projects and program. Prior to his current appointment, he was working with CARD-F as provincial Manager of Helmand branch. While working with CARD-F, Helmand was also teaching regional administration and international organizations in University of Bost, Helmand.

He speaks Pashtu, Urdu and English
