Darzabi has served in the Jowzjan police force for more than 20 years, as well as in other provinces. He served as the head of the commission for the reconstruction of the Hazrat Ali Shrine in Mazar-i Sharif in 1995. He has held the posts of Chief of Security for Jowzjan province for one year in 2001, Mr. Abdul Satar Darzabi was a member of the committee on national resources and environment in Wolesi Jirga 2005. Darzabi is an independent Wolesi Jirga 2010 member.

Darzabi was born in 1962 in Bato village, Darzab District, Jawzjan Province. Darzabi completed his primary and secondary education at Darzab High School in Jowzjan. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the Academy of Policy in Turkey, which he earned in 1994. He has graduated from Academy of New Sibreiski (former Soviet Union).
