Background:
Anar Dara District Andar Dara District is inhabitated with approximately 70% Tajik and a Pashtun minority. Anar Dara is located 75 kilometers to the northwest of Farah city, with 39 villages. The district shares border with Iran in the west and the Haroon River flows in the middle of the town.

Taliban fighters have captured Anar Dara district center in Afghanistan’s western province of Farah bordering Iran, where they have battled government security forces fiercely in recent months. Though police and intelligence service forces were still holding out in their headquarters. (20180312)
