Government of Afghanistan has been concerned over the activities of Hizb-ut-Tahrir. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah told the Council of Ministers on Nov 23, 2015 that Hizb-ut-Tahrir has been functioning in academic environments, societies and among youths. He said Hizb-ut-Tahrir is the civil branch of terrorist networks that convince people for terrorist activities and misusing the name of democracy and freedom. CEO Abdullah’s concerns come after 27 students of Nangarhar University were recently arrested for supporting anti-government groups. Hizb-ut-Tahrir views Afghanistan as an invaded country and believes Taliban’s battle as a defense towards the invasion. (20151122) |
