About 500 to 700 Afghani businesses operate in the UAE . Afghani businessmen based in Dubai control 60 per cent of Afghanistan’s total trade. Afghanistan has attracted investment interest from other parts of the world over the past four years. The country has huge reserves of copper, minerals, gold and precious stone and a Chinese company has won a $8bn copper mining contract. Companies from India, Iran, Turkey, South Korea and Pakistan are involved in major projects.
