Background:
The Carpet Producers and Exporters Union was founded 1987 and is involved in rebuilding the production and export of Afghan carpets to pre-war levels. It co-ordinates the activities of carpet producers and exports and liaises with its parent body the Ministry of Commerce regarding legislation and quality control.
