Yaftal Sufla is one of the 29 districts of Badakhshan province in eastern Afghanistan. It was created in 2005 from part of the Fayzabad District and is home to approximately 59,654 residents.


Background:
Dozens of anti-Taliban fighters attacked the district headquarters and disarmed Taliban forces and temporarily took control of the district administration for zwo hours while its “senior officials” were on leave. Fasihuddin Fitrat, went to Badakhshan province. He confirmed that the attack has been carried out by Sepahian-e Maihan. (20260717)
