Abdul Aziz Haqqani Aziz Haqqani was born 1988 to Jalaludin Haqqani and his first wife. Following his brother Badruddin Haqqani's killing, Abdulaziz Haqqani assumed responsibility for all major Haqqani Network attacks, heavily engaging in military decision-making and logistical processes. Subsequent to the 2021 Taliban Offensive and restoration of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan's rule over the country, he was officially appointed to the position of deputy to Sirajuddin Haqqani.

Aziz Haqqani is a senior member of the Haqqani Network and brother to Haqqani Network leader Sirajuddin Haqqani. For several years, Aziz Haqqani has been involved in planning and carrying out improvised explosive device (IED) attacks against Afghan government targets, and assumed responsibility for all major Haqqani Network attacks after the death of his brother, Badruddin Haqqani. In August 2014, the Department of State's Rewards for Justice program announced the authorization of a reward of up to $5 million for information leading to the location of Aziz Haqqani.(20150826)

Interior Ministry spokesman Abdul Mateen Qani said the US government had revoked the bounties placed on Sirajuddin Haqqani, Abdul Aziz Haqqani, and Yahya Haqqani.(20250325)

Background:
Jalaluddin Haqqani has at least seven sons:
1. Sirajuddin Haqqani who assumed leadership of the Haqqani network after Jalaluddin Haqqani.
2. Badruddin Haqqani – younger than Sirajuddin. He was an operational commander of the network. He was killed in a US drone strike on 24 August 2012 in North Waziristan.

3. Nasiruddin Haqqani – He was a key financier and emissary of the network. As the son of Jalaluddin's Arab wife, he spoke fluent Arabic and traveled to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates for fundraising. He was killed by unknown assailants in Bhara Kahu, in the eastern part of the Islamabad Capital Territory, Pakistan, on 11 November 2013.
4. Mohammed Haqqani - Younger than Sirajuddin. He was a military commander of the network, and was killed in a US drone strike on February 18, 2010 in North Waziristan.
5. Omar Haqqani - Younger than Sirajuddin. He was killed leading Haqqani Network fighters during a US military operation in Khost province in July 2008.
6. Aziz Haqqani - Younger than Sirajuddin, and senior member of the network.
7. Anas Haqqani - Senior member of the network. He was arrested on October 15, 2014 by the Afghan forces. Anas Haqqani has been sentenced to death by a primary court of Kabul on Monday, 05. Sep 2016.
