3. Biodata
Ms. Toorpekai was born 1966 in Zabul Province. She was a member of the Committee on Dispatches and Communications (Telecommunication Commission) in Wolesi Jirga 2005. She lost her husband to a Russian bullet many years ago leaving her alone to raise her only daughter. She's been a teacher and a school principal and a health educator working with the Red Cross on a vaccination program in Zabul Province where she encountered resistance from those who opposed vaccination for women and girls. She is a high-school graduate and has also worked with UNAMA in the health-care area.
