3. Biodata:
aymaq_khair_hajiHaji Khair Muhammad Aimaq is the son of Akramudin and was born 1961 in Sancharak District, Sar-i-Pul Province. Aymaq completed his secondary education at Zargon Kot High School in Sar-i-Pul in Sancharak district. He graduated from twelfth class in 1980.

After completing his education, Aymaq joined the Mujahideen and was a jihadi
commander with Hezb-e-Jamiat Islami Afghanistan during the war years.

Aymaq participated in the Emergency Loya Jirga in 2002 and the Constitutional Loya
Jirga in 2003.

He bagged 3rd most votes in Sar-e-Pol Province 2005. He hails from an ethnic minority, the Aimaq tribe. He was an independent candidate in the Wolesi Jirga Elections 2005. He was in Sang Charak prison about 30 years ago during the Soviet occupation. Now he lives in Bala Bagh in Kabul City. He used to be member of Jamiyat Islami, but is not a member of any party now. He was also a member of the Emergency Loya Jirga

Aimaq speaks Dari, Pashtu and English.
 

Background:
Due to long back history there are tensions between Aimaq and Pashtuns in Sar-e-Pul Province, because the deportation of Aimaqs in 1885 and the occupation of their lands by Pushtun nomads, told to become cultivators.
