Kazemi killed: On November 6, 2007, a terrorist carried out a suicide bombing in the Baghlan province of Afghanistan that deliberately targeted a delegation of 18 members of the Wolesi Jirga, the directly elected chamber of the National Assembly of Afghanistan. After the bombing, six Wolesi Jirga members lay dead: Sayed Mustafa Kazemi, Chair of the Economic Commission of the Wolsi Jirga and former Minister of Commerce, Engineer Abdul Matin, a member from the province of Helmland, Sibgatullah Zaki, a member from the province of Takhar, Haji Sahib Rahman Hemat, a member from the province of Kunar, Nazik Mir Sarferaz, a member from the Kunduz province and Mohammad Arif Zarif, a member from Kabul.

First parliamentary group, Isteqlal-i-Millihas (National Independece GRoup), 26 members, with Mustafa Kazimi Kazemi (Schia) as its head while Sayed Muhammad Gulabzoi as his deputy (20060830). Belongs to Northern Alliance. Mustafa Kazemi's cousins S. Mujtaba Hashemi and Muslim are Afghan trade representatives in Germany and Dubai respectively. His other two cousins are trade representatives in Mashhad of Iran. And another one of his cousins, Mr. Daleri is the chief of customs in Kabul. As if the above were not enough to give full control of the Afghan commerce to one family, the Minister's brother-in-law has been made head of the Chambers of Commerce. Extending the family's area of influence further, yet another cousin of the minister has been appointed to head the Food Supply Office.
