Abdul Khaliq Hussaini Pashai is a member of the Meshrano Jirga, the upper house of Afghanistan's National Assembly, for Laghman Province. Prior to becoming a member of the Mehrano Jirga he was a teacher and school principal. He is a secretary to the Communications Committee. He is a Assistant Secretary of the Meshrano Jirga.

3 . Biodata:
pashaye_abdul_khaliqAbdul Khaliq Husseini, son of Al-Haj Mirza Hussain Shah, was born in 1958 to a religious family in the village of Noor Alam Sahib in Alingar district of Laghman province. He completed his primary education at a primary school in his village and his intermediate education at Sheikh Muhammad Hussein school. He was enrolled in Habibia High School in Kabul and in 1973, he studied at Malikyar High School in Nangarhar. After passing the university entrance examinations in 1978, he was admitted to the Teacher Training Institute of Nangarhar. He graduated in 1979 and was employed as teacher in 1980.

He then joined the military and following his service he was again recruited as a teacher at Ahmad Khan School in Kabul. In mid-1982, he was appointed as headmaster of Ahmad Khan School and in 1984 he became headmaster of Manucheri School in Kabul. In 1988, he became headmaster of Tajwar Sultana School, and in 1989 he was the headmaster of Shah-e Do Shamshera School and then he taught at Amir Sher Ali Khan School. He taught between 1989 and 2005. In addition to teaching throughout these years, he completed another two years of study at the Roshan Institute. Husseini is the first author of a first grade text book written in Pashai and published by the Ministry of Education. He worked as an interpreter and Pashai-language anchor at RTA. Husseini writes poetry in Pashai. His poems and writings have been published. He is a member of the Pashai Central Assembly and secretary of the Pashai tribe.
 

Husseini was indirectly elected to the Meshrano Jirga through the 2005 Provincial Council elections. After the establishment of the National Assembly, he nominated himself for the post of Assistant Secretary of the Meshrano Jirga, an election which he won. Husseini is skilled in education, management and administrative affairs. He is the recipient of several certificates of appreciation. He is not affiliated with any political party. He has traveled to the United States, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates and India.

He is married and has six sons.
 

Pashai is fluent in Dari, Pashto, Pashai and he speaks some English.
