3. Biodata:
hotak_hassanAl-Haj Mohammed Hassan Hotak, son of Al-Haj Shir Yaqub Khan, was born in the village of Mandin Khel in Shinkai district of Zabul province in 1953. He completed his primary education at Shah Alam Primary School in Shikey and in 1966 he enrolled in Ibn Sina High School in Kabul and graduated in 1971. In 1972, he enrolled in the Teachers Training Institute of Kandahar and graduated in 1974 with an emphasis in physics and mathematics. Hotak was appointed as a teacher at Sheikh Matti in 1974. In 1975 he was appointed as a senior teacher in Shah Alam School. He was later appointed as the director of the same school in 1977.

In 1979, he traveled to Pakistan as a refugee and joined the mujahideen front and participated in the resistance until the victory of the mujahideen government. He returned to the country during the presidency of Hazrat Sebghatullah Mojadeddi. After the fall of the Taliban and creation of the interim government, he was appointed as director of the finance department, a position he held until he became a senator. Hotak received a letter of appreciation for his service from the governor of Zabul. In 2006, he undertook an official trip to Dubai. He is a former member of Hezb Islami.

The district governor of Atghar district belongs to senator Hassan Khan Hotak’s family.

Hotak is a member of the Relations to the Provincial/Distircts Councils and the Immunities and Privileges Committee.

Mohammad Hassan Hotak, also a former senator from Zabul province, was killed near his house in Qala-e-Wazir, Police District 5 of the city, according to police.(20200831)

He is married and has eight children. He speaks Pashto and Dari and English.
