3. Biodata:
Hakim_Fahim_ECCAhmad Fahim Hakim was born 1959 in Kabul where he grew up in an educated family. His maternal grandfather was Ustad Abdul Haq Betab, and his late father, Abdul Hakim, who died in 2004, was Minister of agriculture from 1968 - 1972, and was also the Governor of Kabul prior to the 'Sawr' coup. Abdul Fahim Hakim’s father initially came from Tashqurghan, a village between Samangan and Balkh provinces. Ahmad Fahim Hakim completed Ghazi Ayub Khan preliminary school in Kabul in 1969 and completed his secondary education at Naderia High School in 1975. The Naderia High School is located in Kart-e-Parwan, Kabul. He was studying on Post-war Recovery, PRDU, University at York, UK and was awarded MA in 1998. He was living as refugee with his family in Peshawar, Pakistan from 1998 to 2002. The main reason to leave Afghanistan to Pakistan was schooling of his two daughters.From 1982 to 1985 he was working with the Construction Department of  Ministry of Agriculture and from 1988 to 1990 he was deputy to Architects Association at the Artists' Union. He was also associate professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Kabul University up to 1997. Meanwhile, he was working with the United Nations Centre for Human Settlement (Habitat) up until 1998. From 1998 to 2002 he was director of an Afghan network called Cooperation for Peace and Unity (CPAU) that later became a national NGO. Since June 2002, he is with the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (www.aihrc.org.af) as human right Commissioner and deputy chair. Commissioner Ahmad Fahim Hakim is a qualified social and development worker with over 12 years of experience working as an Activist and Mobilizer for peace building and human rights activities. As an active member of the Afghan civil society he attended the Bonn Conference in 2001. 

According to Weesa Daily Fahim Hakim, was previously been picked by the German Embassy in Kabul to lead a group of civil society delegation to the Bonn II Conference. But, owing to pressure from the Afghan Government officials on the Embassy, he has been dropped off the list. (20111121)

Nader Naderi, Human Rights Commissioner, Fahim Hakim, Mawlawi Ghulam Mohammad Gharib and two other members of the commission were sacked by the president over publishing a report about violation of human rights by some high ranking government officials and disagreements between the commission and the government and Administrative Reforms and Civil Services Commission as well as acting ministers' activities. According to the Independent Human Rights Commission Regulations, the president does not have the authority to sack it's commissioners.(20111222) The five years term in office of three top officials of Afghanistan Human Rights Commission (AHRC) has expired and President Hamid Karzai has rejected extension of service for another term. Ahmad Fahim Hakim is married, and has two daughter and three sons. The oldest kid is a daughter, who completed her master’s studies on computer science in Usmania University, Hydarabad, India in 20011. His son is graduated from faculty of Science in 2008. His second daughter is in her 3rd year of studies at faculty of social science. His two other sons are respectively in 11th and 5th grades. They are all in Kabul, now. (20111128).

His mother language is Dari. He is also fluent in Pashto and English.
