3. Biodata
Dipl. Engineer Mohammad Akram Ghiasi, son of Mohammad Afzal Ghiasi, was born in Parwan Province in 1955. Upon graduation from Naaman High School in Parwan province, Ghiasi earned his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in mining engineering from Kabul Polytechnic Institute. Ghiasi has worked in the following capacities since 1976 at the Ministry of Mines: • Field engineer, Northern Afghanistan Oil and Gas Exploration Division • Oil and gas production manager • Technical general manager of production. • Director of Mining Division and supervisor of Geology and Mining Research Institute. • Mining director. • Oil and Gas Director and Advisor to the Ministry of Mines • Mining Deputy Minister. He traveled to Iran, Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, and the United States of America. He has also served as a member of Turkmenistan – Afghanistan- Pakistan – India ( TAPI ) Gas Pipeline Leadership Committee. For his outstanding contributions, he was awarded an honorary medal and first, second, and third level certificates of appreciation from the Afghan Government.

He is now living in Sacramento, USA.

Ghiasi is married.
