The authorities of the Balkh, silo factory demanded the attention of the Islamic Emirate for the reopening of the factory.(20220129)

They mention that if the silo factory reopens, the Islamic Emirate could obtain the bread for the military and even civilian institutions.

With the sub-closed of factory, hundreds of employees have lost their jobs. In the past decades, the factory supplied most of the bread for military and civilian institution, and its products were still available to the citizens in the markets. Now only the devices of this silo’s factory are left.

Balkh Silo’s factory started operating in the south of Mazar-e-Sharif in 1983 with the cooperation of the Soviet Union and was active until 1996. The silo complex also provides storage and milling facilities for wheat.

Engineer Mohammad Sadaq Saba, a consultant at the Balkh Silo Factory, says that in order to reopen the factory, a three-item plan has been proposed and submitted to senior government officials and for the Ministry of Agriculture. He said that one million euros is needed to re-constructions of the factory.

The factory will provide employment to 50 at the opening adding that 400 people including 50 women will be recruited in the near future.(20221107)
