Mrs. Mohadese Mirzaee was born 1998 and attended Kabul’s Afghan-Turk Maarif school but finished her final year in Port Colborne in Canada, where she first considered a career in aviation. She stayed in Canada for another year after her studies, working as a cashier and barista to scrape the money together for flying lessons. She was Afghanistan’s first female commercial airline pilot. Just months earlier (20200900), Mirzaee had made headlines as one of the pilots of a Kam Air Boeing 737 – the country’s first flight with an all-female crew.

She and her crew receives the Aero Time Hub Award in recognition of their role as the first all-female crewed flight in Afghanistan on 24 February 2021 from Kabul to Herat; for their dedication and commitment to their work and for promoting equality in aviation; for acting as role models for the next generation of women to pursue their dreams. The AeroTime Global Executive Committee recognises the positive influence of these efforts and the significance of the impact on the aviation industry and its people, both today and into the future.
