Tamim Shansab is the stepson of former Defense Minister Abdul Rahim Wardak. An Afghan police officer and a security guard have been killed in Kabul during a 24-hour standoff between police. Six police officers and a journalist were also wounded in the gunbattle that began on December 3, 2018. An individual had filed a lawsuit against Shansab( a company owner)  claiming that the residence was his and that Shansab was living there illegally. The individual won all three trials in the case and Shansab was told to leave the residence in Shahr-i-Naw area in early November, but had so far refused.

Sources within the government have said that Tamim’s father Naseer Shansab had sold out the house to a person named Assadullah, but his son, Tamim Shansab was against the deal.

No security company under the name of Tamim Shansab is registered in the Ministry of Interior. Only one company has been registered under the name of Hamid Wardak who is Shansab’s step brother. He (Tamim Shansab) used from the name of the same company,” said Mohammad Salim Almas, head of Kabul police Crime Investigation Department.

The Attorney General’s office says it has completed the assessment over the case of Tamim Shansab, head of a former security company and his armed, and that they will be trialed in the near future. (20181231)
