3. Biodata

Ahmad Murtaza Habibyar was born  2nd January 1983 in Laghman Province. He grew up in Jalalabad. In 2007 he was awarded BA-Honors / Law & Political Science / Nangarhar University, Jalalabad, Afghanistan.

He is a Social and PEACE Activist, Country Representative of Afghanistan for MY FACE FOR PEACE Project (Germany), Global Preach Peace Foundation PEACE Ambassador, Co-Founder at National Stability Society (NSS) and Founder/Director of Lawyers for Rule of Law and Democracy Organization (LRLDO).

Currently he is working with local multiple Peace building organizations and communities, charity and child rights foundations and youth activist in capital city Kabul and east region of Afghanistan.

He speaks Pashtu Dari Urdu and English.

Ahmad Murtaza Habibyar is from Laghman province, Eastern Afghanistan. He was born on 2nd January 1983. He grew up in a Religious, Academic and Patriotic family. He spent his early life in the Nangarhar province. He completed his secondary and high school at Nangarhar Higher Secondary School, Jalalabad and in 2007 he graduated from the Faculty of Law and Political Science, Nangarhar University. Since then he has worked in various governmental and nongovernmental organizations on the following positions:
 

*     Commissioner of Provincial Independent Electoral Complaint Commission in Balkh province

*     International Election Observer, International Election Observation Mission (IEOM) Asian Network for Free Elections (ANFREL),  Sri Lanka 2019 Presidential Elections;

*     Head of Justice Sector in Joint Commission for Implementation of Peace Agreement with HIA.

*     Senior Associate in 2018 Parliamentary Election Candidates Screening Department ( Democracy for Afghanistan Project) of Development Network for Afghanistan (DNA)

*     Chief of Staff in Independent Election Commission;

*     International Election Observer, International Election Observation Mission (IEOM) Forum of Electoral Management Bodies of South Asia (FEMBOSA),  Nepal  2017 Parliamentary Elections;

Habibyar is currently working as Wolesi Jirga (Lower house) Relations Director at State Ministry for Parliamentary Affairs; He has worked for the electoral Process in all the Elections in the post-Taliban era and has been actively involved in the process of strengthening democracy in the country. It is worthy of note, that Habibyar is committed to Free, Fair, Transparent Election and Institutionalization of democracy in Afghanistan. In addition to his official work, he has been participating in various social activities and gatherings that help in the improvement of Human Rights, Stability and Peace. Habibyar has taken part in various National and International workshops and has expressed his views for development of the country particularly in the mentioned sectors. He is the winner of BIGHRO's Human Rights and Democracy Prize (Belgium) and was a candidate for the N-Peace Network Award, Indonesia. He is currently My Face for Peace, a German Organization, representative for Afghanistan. Habibyar has been awarded for excellence in his work by various National and International Institutions. In addition to Pashto and Dari, he is fluent in English and Urdu languages. He loves art. Painting, reading, social activities, mountain climbing and golf are his hobbies.
