3. Biodata:

Mohammed Yahya Ghanei Mohammad Yahya Qanie was born in Peshawar of Pakistan on January 6, 1994 during the civil war in Afghanistan. He went to Habibia High School '11 Kabul, 2006–2011

.  First time my Parents immigrated to Pakistan from 1994 to 1995. The second time I had 6 years old when we immigrated to Pakistan during the regime of Taliban from 2000 to 2003. Among these years my parents moved to Orozgan (1997-2000) because of joblessness, where I found different people and culture then Kabul inhabitants. I grew up in Kabul, Orozgan and Peshawar. I had a very simple childhood with my only sibling, my older cousin. During my childhood I was shy, calm and little smug.
I started school in Pakistan in an Afghan privet school (Mirwais Nika), where made me earnest to education. After our relapse to Afghanistan in 2003, I continued my intermediate educations in "Said Noor Mohammad Shah Mina" school. It was a simple school with least of facilities. In 2007 I moved to "Habibia High School" it means the first school in Afghanistan. Finally after 6 years I graduated from this high school, where most of famous characters and presidents graduated from.

In 2012 after passing Concour (Entry exam of university) I succeeded to start higher education in Kabul University, which is also called the Mother of Universities, because it is the first university of Afghanistan with most of the professors. Nonce I am a student of the 3th year at the French Department at Kabul University, where I got most important achievements of my life. This department gave me the key of life and by its gravity I knew myself, my role in society, my role in my family, my abilities and the ways of success.
In future I want to study Political Science, and obtain my masters and doctorate in this faculty. It is my big dream to be a political personality and serve for my people and my country as they need our help. It is not only my interests to study political sciences but my abilities, qualifications and situation of Afghanistan also encourage me to study this faculty.

My personal life and professional life are much different, it means when I am with my family I am trying to be chummy and humor, but in my professional life I am serious about everything and mostly I don’t like repose during work to waste the time, because I am hyperactive and I like and I appreciate hyperactive and honest people.
I can speak Dari, Pashto, English, French, Persian and German and I like to speak Arabic as well. My favorite colors are blue, black, white, gray and some other dark colors. I am a person who is positive about every aspect of life. There are many things I like to do, to see and to experience. I like to think, I like to dream, I like to see the sunrise in the morning, I like to see the moonlight at night, I like to smell the wind coming from the ocean, I like to sleep late and get up early, I like to delicious food and expensive clothes, I like to have lots of friends.

Finally, it wouldn’t hurt to travel to amazing places, to meet wonderful people and finish my education. I am someone who is mostly busy, but my dream is still alive. was born in Peshawar of Pakistan on January 6, 1994 during the civil war in Afghanistan. NYU SPS Center for Global Affairs

Introducing Yahya Qanie, an M.S. Candidate at the SPS' Center for Global Affairs! Yahya majors in Global Affairs with a concentration in Transnational Security and is expected to graduate in 2024. He also holds a B.A. in French Literature and Legal Translation. After graduation, Yahya plans to work in international affairs via the United Nations, Think Tanks, or other international organizations until he can acquire a job with the U.S. government upon attaining citizenship. He hopes to "practice the shared values of working towards building a stronger global community and supporting global vital agendas of development." Eventually, he aspires to create policies and strategies that outline further support from U.S. Foreign Policy & engagement in South and Central Asia. His time at the CGA, Yahya shared, has "been life-changing for me, not only because of the excellent curriculum and amazing professors but also because of the amazing community and individuals I meet on daily basis. Many of them have become role models and friends whom I refer to as my SPS family members." "My favorite thing about SPS is that it’s designed to teach in a comprehensive way using tested tools and techniques to help us get the most out of it and help organizations do their best at the highest levels," Yahya added. Yahya has also spoken at a high-level panel with various international professionals and was awarded the Afghan Crisis Scholarship. When asked about this, Yahya said that "Coming from where I come, as a first-generation student, as a generation that has witnessed every conflict and political instability, and now as an immigrant, achieving this goal was slowly fading, but Dean’s Afghan Crisis Scholarship gave me back the wings to fly, the energy to dream even bigger, and the amazing NYU family that supports me at every single step." We are so excited for Yahya and all he's accomplished, and we can't wait to see what he does next! #CGAProud #NY (20240304)

Yahya Qanie

Yahya Qanie, former founder & president of the Kabul Model United Nations, acting president of the United Nations Association of Afghanistan, and co-founder of National Youth Consensus for Peace, is a Kabul University undergraduate who has created many opportunities for young men and women to discuss and help find solutions to ongoing national and global issues threatening Afghanistan and the world, as a whole. These platforms also helped introduce and engage youth to the world of politics and diplomacy.

Yahya was a member of a steering group to develop a five-year global strategy on “Inclusion of youth in the peace process” as a part of UN Youth Envoy, Search for Common Ground, and United Network of Young Peacebuilders initiative. Also, as a fellow of the Global Initiative for Justice, Truth and Reconciliation, he and nine other experts recently developed a global toolkit for atrocity prevention.

Yahya has been awarded the Honorary Medal twice, in 2017 and 2019, by Afghanistan National Olympic Committee, and has received an appreciation letter from the former First Lady of Afghanistan for his services to the youth community. He was also nominated for the Asia 21 Young Leaders Award 2018. In 2021, he was invited to speak at the High-Level Panel on the 5th anniversary of UNSCR 2250.

Most recently, Yahya was invited, as a youth representative, to participate at the opening ceremony of the “High-Level Global Conference on Youth-Inclusive Peace Process” along with the UN Secretary-General, Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland, and First-Lady of Colombia. The High-Level Global Conference was moderated by UN Youth Envoy. He is also the author of several articles in the context of politics, diplomacy, security, and youth for well-known publications, journals, and organizations.(retrieved 20240304)
