3. Biodata:

Abdul Rasheed Rashid Abdur Rasheed Rashed Abdul Rashid Rashid was born in the year 1320 (1941) in Baghlan province. Justice Rashid is a graduate of the Islamic law University of Kabul. After completing a year of reserve training and reserve course  work in the Afghan National Army , he went on to attend the judiciary training curriculum at the  supreme court in general legal studies . After completion of this training he was appointed as a primary court judge in Baglan province, where he presided for over a year.

During this time he continued work as a member of the Research Department of the Supreme Court, where decision and analysis of first pass cases were made.

He was subsequently appointed as the general director of the petition office of the Supreme Court. He held the position for three years, where he was responsible for legal opinions regarding all incoming petitions. His next post was as president of the secretariat of the Supreme Court with Judiciary Rights.

Here he rendered second opinions on cases that were held in the lower courts (including primary and appellate courts) for the purpose of moving cases forward

As a scholarship  recipient of the legal training program at the supreme court , justice Rashid, attended core  curriculum and  Legal training  development at the George Washington university school of law , where  he studied  Comparative Law , Criminal law , Tort , Criminal Procedure and  Constitutional Law .

He returned to Afghanistan to serve out his term as president of the secretarial.
 

He served at this post until he was jailed by the incoming communist party, and charged due to his study in comparative western law and his time in the United States. Upon his release however he was pointed as a member of the Commercial Division of the Appellate Court where he resided for 2 years.

He also became a member of the inspection office of the Supreme Court where he oversaw the training and credentialing of the lower courts.

Due to ongoing threats to his person and his family, Justice Rashid was forced to flee Afghanistan in1984.
 

In 2004 with the initiation of the Bonn Agreement , Justice Rashid was involved in a unofficial title , as chairman of the committee for the Legal Interpretation of the first ever constitution of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan the  articles  of which were used to draft  the first official version of  the Constitution .

He was nominated by president Karzai in 2005 as a member of the new Supreme Court and the nomination was approved by congress that same year. He started presiding immediately and became a key member in the development of the new Supreme Court.

 

Since his appointment, he has been chairman of Division of the Military and Crime against Internal and External security office of Supreme Court, where he overseas military crimes and security affairs.
 

Abdul Rashid Rashid Abdul Rasheed Rashid has been appointed as acting chief justice and head of Supreme Court of Afghanistan following the resignation of former chief justice Abdul Salam Azimi. Rashid was a senior member of the Supreme Court of Afghanistan and was serving as chief of the military bureau in the Supreme Court of Afghanistan and bureau to fight against the internal and external security. An official in the Supreme Court has said President Ghani will release a decree regarding the appointment of Rashid as chief justice in the coming days. President Ghani accepted the resignation of the former chief justice Abdul Salam Azimi on Thursday (20141023). He served as chief justice and head of the Supreme Court of Afghanistan in the past five years.(20141024)
