Anwar-ul Haq Mujahid was born 1967 and hails from Nangahar Province. He is the eldest son of late Afghan resistance leader Maulvi Yunus Khalis. Mujahid, who is in his 40s, had formed his Tora Bora Mahaz (front) whose fighters are allied with Afghan Taleban. His group, which operated primarily in Nangarhar province, is responsible for several deadly attacks

Anwarul Haq Mujahid was arrested by Pakistan from northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province during a raid in Peshawar in 2009. Mujahid was reportedly detained with his two cousins, Shumsul Islam and Dr. Qalandar, while he was in Peshawar for medical treatment.

He was released from Pakistan internment late 2012115, a close relative said on condition of anonymity.(20121116)
