3. Biodata:
kakar_suleiman3Muhammad Suleman Kakar, son of Muhammad Aman (known as Khan Mawlavi) was born Dec 15, 1964 in Mian Joy Villag, Qarabagh District, Kabul Province. He went to Saydal Nasir Primary School (1970-1975) in Kabul Province and later to Sher Khan High School (1976-1978) in Kunduz Province, Afghanistan. Kakar has lived in Pakistan as a refugee from 1979 to 2001. From 1983 to 1984 he went to Government High School in Peshawar City, Pakistan. He studied Political Science and Economics, University of Peshawar, Pakistan 1989-1990 and made the BA. Kakar was awarded a MA in Development Studies, Holy Ghost College, Kimmage Manor, Dublin, Ireland, 1999-2000 and received· a· Post Graduate Diploma; Development Studies, Holy Ghost College, Kimmage Manor, Dublin Ireland 1999-2000.

Throughout his career, Mohammad Suleman Sulaiman Kakar has actively participated in the process of reconstruction, development and peace building in Afghanistan. Before joining the government he has worked for the national and international NGOs for almost 16 years in a number of key roles. As a development consultant he has evaluated programs for UN agencies and local and international NGOs. He has also presented lectures on issues of development, peace and human rights. He has worked on several research projects especially on issues of peace and development. He received multiple trainings in the region and abroad between 1989 and 2009.· He also participated in many Research and Consultancy Services (2000 - 2006). He was a frequent guest at National and International Forums and Conferences (1997 - 2012).

He is the founding member of several Afghan civil society organizations and global network for peace and justice, such as:
- Action for Conflict Transformation , a Global Network of individuals and agencies working for peace and justice
- World Peace Movement Trust has honored him with Peace Award

Muhammad Suleman Kakar was running for the parliament in 2010. He was the Managing Director Cooperation for Peace and Unity (CPAU) (20110330).

In his resignation letter to President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani Ahmadtai, the deputy national security adviser has described the existing issues as the main motive behind his resignation.(20180903)
 

Suleman Kakar is married and has five children, 3 daughters and two sons.
