Noor TV is owned by late Prof. Burhanuddin Rabbani's eldest son Salahuddin Rabbani.

Lutfullah Mashal, the spokesman of the National Directorate of Security, accused Ensaf Daily and Tamadon TV [owned by Asif Mohseni] and Noor TV [owned by the Rabbani family] of receiving funds and story ideas from Iran.(20120410)

Background:
Noor Television Network is a Kabul based channel that has been broadcasting successfully in major provinces of Afghanistan since July 2007. Noor TV celebrates Afghan culture, heritage and spirituality by providing programs that inform, educate and entertain. Noor TV wants to unite the many regions of Afghanistan under one Television Network. To this end, Noor TV focuses on educational, cultural and spiritual needs of the viewers by providing an array of culturally appropriate and educationally sound programs.

Noor Television Network operates from its Kabul office as well as Production facilities in Herat, Mazar Shareef and Jalalabad. Additionally, Noor TV has regional marketing offices located in Jalalabad, Heart, Mazar Shareef, Badakhshan and Kandahar. Noor TV's r news reporters are located in Provincial Headquarters such as  Balkh, Nangarhar, Parwan, Kapisa, Wardak, Laghman, Farah, Badghis, Samangan, Kandahar, Kunduz, Uruzgan, Nimruz and other parts of the country.

Noor TV first appeared on television screens in the United States and Canada on August 1, 2007, as the first Afghan satellite television station to be broadcasted out of Northern California. Since then, Noor TV has grown to be one of the most popular Afghan television stations in North America.
