3. Biodata:
Abdul Aziz Ariaey was borne in 1977 in Ghozukdara, a village of Argo district of Badakhshan province of Afghanistan. Mr. Ariaey is the owner of Master Degree in Islamic Studies (Sharia) from International Islamic University in Islamabad-Pakistan in 2005. In addition, he got a Post-Graduate Diploma in Information technology (PGD-IT). Being a university student, he served as a head of the cultural affairs' of the Afghan Students' Union.

Ariaey returned to his home land, and started his career as a University lecturer in the Faculty of Education Badakhshan-Afghanistan. In 2007, he was appointed as Alternative Livelihood Officer in Counter Narcotics Advisory Team (CNAT) a joint initiative of the US Embassy of Kabul and Afghan Ministry of Counter Narcotics in Badakhshan. Ariaey joined Civil Service Commission as National Coach/advisor for the Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs through the UNDP/ CAP Project in 2008. After a year he was appointed as Corruption Prevention Advisor in the High Office of Oversight & Anti-Corruption by USAID/TAF.

And then he joined the Ministry of Finance as Procurement Controllers coordinator and when the process of Security Transition started, he was appointed as Security Cluster Advisor to the MOF/ Policy Department through the UNDP/MBAW project and was responsible to lead, organize and coordinate the transition non security affairs with all Afghan entities and the International Security forces.

Before his appointment as Chairman of the Election Compliance Commission (ECC) he served as Vulnerability to Corruption Assessment (VCA) Team Lead for Independent Joint Anti-corruption Monitoring and Evaluation Committee (MEC). During 4 years of his being the VCA team lead for MEC, he could produce over 18 VCA reports which are published in www.mec.af.

During his working period, he participated in different national and international conferences and Seminars and trainings held on Policy, Development, Procurement, Human resource Management, good governance, and Anti-corruption, in Singapore, Dubai, Delhi, Paris, and Washington DC and Malaysia.


Ariaey can speak, read and write in Dari, Pashto, English, Urdu, and Arabic.
