saeedi_ahmadAhmad Saeedi was born 1958 in Ghor Province. He is political Analyst and was a former Afghan Diplomat in Pakistan. He said about Karzai and his strategy: The stances taken or remarks made by President Karzai, his security advisor or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs change with the season; we cannot consider them to be reflective of strategic policy. Afghan officials adopt such stances or make such remarks as a special tactic, dictated by certain individuals for some specific purpose. President Karzai’s relations with the West have become fragile, so he tries to have close relations with the neighboring countries, Iran and Pakistan, to frighten the West to some extent.

President Karzai wants to warn the West that he will turn to Iran and Pakistan if he is pressured by the West. But adopting such a position is a temporary measure, and driven by specific aims. These are not strategic or logical policies. For instance, President Karzai sometimes calls his opponents “my brothers” and at other times calls them terrorists. I think Spanta chose his position on orders from above. (20100912)

Saeedi on the Attorney General's activities concerning fight against corruption: "I believe that Attorney General's Office is in haste and has no idea where to start and where to end. They just perform political acting to pretend they are seriously fighting against corruption." (2011033)

Political analyst Ahmad Saeedi survived an assassination attempt 2015 urged government to track down the perpetrators and bring them to book. But at the same time he blamed the so-called 'fifth pillar' for being involved.  Doctors at Kabul's Emergency Hospital said although Saeedi had been shot in the head twice, he survived and is in a stable condition.

"The wounds are in his head but it has not damaged his brain. He is in a good condition," said Nkila Radili, a coordinator at the hospital.

Ahmad Saeedi, a former diplomat and an analyst in political affairs based in Germany, said that Afghanistan’s capital has not moved to Kandahar and that key decisions are made there not in Kabul. “Wherever a capital is, it will be more prosperous than other cities,” he said. “As Hibatullah is from Kandahar, he wants to see Kandahar more prosperous than Kabul.” He said that Akhundzada “claims to be an emperor” and wants to move the capital to Kandahar like Mirwais Hotaki, Shah Mahmoud Hotaki and Ahmad Shah Durani.(20230404)
