Background:
Regional Military Training Center (RMTC) facility for the Afghan National Army at Gardez, Afghanistan is currently under construction (Feb 20, 2010). Site is located adjacent to Camp Thunder Paktya Province. Design population of 2,700 personnel. Examples of some of the facilities that will be part of the scope but not limited to are: barracks for 2,700 personnel, RMTC HQ Building, Dining Facilities with seating for 1000, laundry facilities, Large Capacity Vehicle Maintenance facilities and appropriate storage/warehouse facilities plus fuel storage and fuel distribution capacity, gravel parking for logistic vehicles, medical clinic, vehicle wash racks, small arms storage, armory security building and entry control point facilities. Also included for construction are generators (that will be located in the existing powerhouse located at the adjacent Corps Support Battalion) and electrical distribution system, raw water sources and water distribution system, waste water treatment plants and sanitary sewer system, access road and road network on new base, construction of perimeter fencing IAW AT/FP measures, landscaping, and ground water runoff drainage system shall be designed for a 2,700 total personnel future load. The construction site will be approximately 200,000 SM. . The project will be site adapt using provided building designs. Contractor design will be limited to civil and electrical: site layout, grading, entry access, drainage, and utilities. The estimated contract value is between $25,000,000.00 and $100,000,000.00.
