3. Biodata:
Abdul Jabbar Taqwa was born 1954 in Afghanistan. He is a Tajik from Fakhar District, Takhar Province. He was educated on the Military Academy Kabul and got a degree there. He was the personal Adjutant of General Abdul Gardizi. During the Mujahedin time he was with Rabbani. In the middle of the 80s he went to Peshawar (Pakistan) while Taqwas younger brother remained as a commander in Afghanistan. In Afghanistan Taqwa has a reputation as poet. During Taliban time he "converted" from from Ikhawana AL Muslemin to Monarchy. In the year 2000 he participated a conference in Rome (Italy), where he met Dr. Amin Farhang the first time.

After Farhang became Minister in the interim government Taqwa was made Minister of State under Farhang. However he told Killid that he had been with Jamiat-e-Islami during Jihad. "I had accepted Rabbani Sahib's leadership and he is still our elder, but I respect other leaders too." (20101211)

A suicide bomber attack left Governor Taqwa injured, provincial police chief Shah Jahan Nuri and commander of police in northern Afghanistan General Mohammad Daud Daud and five others dead on the spot (20110528). Also two German soldiers were killed and a German General badly injured in the incident. Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai said the governor had lost all his energy because of old age and could not perform his duties after mid-day.(20120403)

Taqwa is the first running mate of Dr. Zailmai Rasul in the Presidential Election 2019.
