Shah is a friend to former Attorney General Abdul Jabar Sabet. After Shah was fired from his Ariana job because of corruption and mismanagement, he was made Deputy Attorney General due to his link to Sabet. Stanekzai’s other friend is Zabiullah Esmati. Esmati, a former welfare recipient of California, still depends on medicine for a psychological disorder. Esmati was the head of the Anti-Corruption commission. Esmati tried to pressure the then Ariana President Dr. Atash to re-hire his friend Stanekzai, and if Dr. Atash complied, he would personally see that all the fake cases that were brought against Dr. Atash by Sabet were “torn up”. The head of the anti-corruption commission of Afghanistan was corrupt himself.
