3. Biodata:
Dr. Burhanullah Shinwari, son of Haji Muhammad Hassan, was born in 1969 in the village of Shepula in Haska district of Nangarhar province. He graduated from Nangarhar High School in 1985. Following his entrance exams, he was admitted to the Faculty of Medicine in Nangarhar where he completed his studies in 1991.

Shinwari was appointed as head of the Department of Preventative Health in Laghman, and in 1992, he became chief doctor of the Nangarhar Health Polyclinic. In 1993, he was in charge of assessing Nangarhar province and in the same year, he had the honor to serve as professor at Nangarhar Medical Institute. In 2002, he was appointed educational manager of the same institute and simultaneously worked as a pediatrician. In recognition of his services, Shinwari was awarded a medal and a certificate. He has written a book entitled The Principles of Surgery. He speaks Pashto, Dari and English. He was indirectly elected to the Meshrano Jirga through Provincial Council elections. In December 2005, during the second session of the Meshrano Jirga, he was elected Second Deputy Speaker. Dr. Shinwari has traveled to England, India and Pakistan. He is not affiliated with any political party.

He is married and has three sons and five daughters.
