3. Biodata
Maj Gen Assadullah Sherzad Asadullah Shirzad replaced Mohammed Hussein Andiwal as the Helmand police chief sometime in 2009 or early 2010. Some reports indicate that Sherzad was removed from Helmand and is the new police chief for Zabul Province as of April 20, 2010. Some reporting suggest Sherzad underperformed as the security chief of Helmand and is accused of graft and corruption. The fleshy and pompous Asadullah Sherzad, was kicked out of neighboring Helmand Province at the insistence of the British troops there, as part of a clean up of government following the Marja offensive. The Police Chief he replaced was himself removed for corruption.

A remote-controlled bomb rigged to a bridge was detonated early morning as a vehicle transporting Asadullah Shirzad passed by. Shirzad remained unhurt. (20130727)
