3. Biodata:
Haji Bahram Samkanai Son of Zaman Shah Khan, was born 1938 in Samkanai (Chamkani) District, Paktia Province. he is a graduate from Police Academy.  He lives in Khost Province. He has worked for 35 years in different provinces as a security official. Samkani is not only the name of a village but also a tribe, family or blood ties. Originally the name was Samkani but later on it changed to Sokani/Sokano and finally Chamkani.

Samkanai is a member and the Secretary of the Ethnical/Tribal, Frontiers, Refugees and Koochies (Nomads) Affairs Committee 2010. The first session of the Senate after winter 2010/2011 recess was held and headed by the Senator Haji Bahram Samkani the head of Senate on 20110127.

He is married and has ten sons and eight daughters.
