saljoqi_salih_drDr. Muhammad Salih Salehuddin Saljoqi Sejoqi, son of Haji Abdul Wahid, was born 1963 in Herat Province. Saljoqi graduated from Jami High School in Herat in 1979. He then studied for two years at the engineering faculty at Kabul University, until 1981. He immigrated to Iran from 1981 to 1991, but on returning he joined Herat University’s Medical Faculty and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 1999. Saljoqi has been a member of the Herat Specialists’ Council since 2002.

Before the election in 2005, Saljoqi was a lecturer of the Medical Faculty of the Physiology Department in Herat University, and is still a member of the university’s academic cadre. He also worked as a physician in Herat city at a private clinic.

He is close to Jamiat-e-Islami. He is a physician in Herat City and was a member of the constitutional Loya Jirga. In 2005 a bomb exploded in his private clinic, but he was unhurt. Saljoqi was the Head of a Delegation of afghan MNAs on a trip to Brussels on 10.-12. Feb. 2009. In 2010 he was the Assistant Secretary of the Wolesi Jirga (2005). He is an intellectual technocrat. Dr Salehuddin Saljooqi was the First Secretary of the Wolesi Jirga 2005. In 2010 he was the second Secretary of the Lower House.

Saljoqi participated in the Constitutional Loya Jirga in 2003. He was announced as a winner in the 2010 election after the disqualification of another candidate by the Electoral Complaints Commission.

Saleh Mohammad Saljoqi was elected as the second vice speaker of Wolesi Jirga with 108 votes.(20130310)
