Graduate of the Waez School, an Islamic college in Kabul. Holds a degree in Islamic studies from a university in Najaf, Iraq. Staunch conservative with links to Sayyaf. He was the first schia in the Supreme Court and he replaced Sunni Fazal Ahmad Manawi.
