3. Biodata
safi_zefnoonZefnoon Safai Zafnon Safi Zafnin Sapi daughter of Ahmad Jan was born 1975 (other source 1971) in Nanakzai Village, Lagman Province. Safi graduated from Mastoora High School in Laghman in 1989. She earned her fourteenth class certificate from the Teacher Training Institute of Laghman in 1996.

Safi volunteered with the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) in the area of women’s affairs. Shei is affiliated with Hezb-e-Muhaz Milli Islami Afghanistan, having joined the party in 2005.

 "The Taliban want legitimacy," says Zefnoon Safai. The use of Mullah Omar's letter by U.N. agencies such as the WHO, she adds, "means that these organizations believe that in addition to the Afghan government and international forces there is a third power here, the Taliban."

Safi was elected to the 2005 parliament. She served on the Budget, Finance, Public Accounts and Banking Affairs commission during this term.

She was replaced in the 2010 elections by Mrs. Mari Gull Laghmani.
 

She is married and has seven children.
