3. Biodata: Ahmad Idrees Rahmani was born 1972 in Kabul (but registered after father, from Jurm Badakhshan) is the son of Mirza Mohammad Rahmani, a Hydro Power Engineer. He went to Primary school Lamia Shaheed (Kabul), Secondary school Zaman Khail (Baghlan), High school Zukoor (Baghlan), between 1977 and 1989. Rahmani was awarded BSc from Balkh University in 1994,MA from Stanford University in 2007, MPhil from Pardee RAND Graduate School in 2010. Currently (2013) he is completing doctoral program in the United States, but is permanently living in Kabul. PhD is expected in 2014.
Rahmani has worked as independent consultant with the Afghanistan's Center for Research and Policy Studies (ACRPS) and international institutions such as the World Bank, The German Technical Cooperation, The Asia Foundation, Bearing Point, and The Open Society Institute on issues related to the development of Sub-national Governance, economic development and building civil society in Afghanistan. Rahmani has been engaged in Afghanistan’s development since 1994, and has worked with different international institutions on political and economic development programs. He has published numerous research papers on governance and international economic regimes through various institutions.
Married and fathered two daughters and two sons.
