pashtoon_arifullahArifullah Pashtun was born 1974 in Sabari District and is the son of Mohammad Tahir Khan Sabari (Khost Deputy Governor), he is from Khost but lives in Kabul now. He is has a Master of International Relations from Maiwand University. He worked for the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, the Ministry of Anti-Narcotics and the Red Cross. He has written a book on marketing, which will be published soon. He is not a member of any political part.

As of May 2009 he worked in Khost as a Governor's Aide, and in January 2010, when his father was acting governor, he was identified as his spokesman. In 2009 he ran in the Khost Provincial Council elections, coming in first with 16,664 votes (15.3%). He was apparently then chosen to be one of Khost's Senators in the Meshrano Jirga. In early March 2010 he was elected Chairman of the International Relations Committee

He told the Upper House on 20100803 that Abdul Jabbar Naeemi, the Governor of Khost, was a staunch supporter of the National Islamic Front Party, led by Pir Syed Ahmad Gilani who fought against Russian forces in 1980s. Pashtun criticized the governor for not remaining neutral and supporting the party's candidates in the September 18, 2010 legislative election. He was again elected as chairman of the commission for International affairs (20110205) and (20120127).

He is married and has three sons and two daughters.
