3. Biodata:
Haji Mohammad Omar was born 1954 in Afghanistan. He is an ethnic Pashtun from Mohmand Zakhel tribe. He was studying at a Polytechnic University in Kabul in his early stage when the Afghanistan conflict started. He left his education and took refuge in Pakistan while his brother Arif Khan joined the Mujahideen movement and was later appointed as a Governor of Kunduz Province. In April 2000 Arif Khan was shot dead in the Pakistani city of Peshawar. The attack was linked with the ongoing rivalry between the ruling Taleban authorities and opposition groups in Afghanistan.

At the time Haji Mohammad Omar was a businessman in Pakistan and Dubai. Haji Mohammad Omar - then Kunduz Governor - surrendered Kunduz Province to the Northern Alliance in 2001. Later he was an Wolesi Jirga Member and received most votes in the 2005 Election. He was appointed as an advisor to the President Karzai. After that he is serving as an Advisor to the President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai.(20180223)
