3. Biodata
Mullah Amir Khan Muttaqi Mawlavi Amir Khan Mottaqi son of late Haji Nadir Khan, was born 1968 (other info 1971 in Zarghoon village, Nad Ali district, Helmand Province) in Shin Kalai village, Zurmat District, Paktia Province. Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi took on primary education in a local school and masjid. Following the coup d’etat of the communists and the Soviet invasion, he was forced to seek refuge with his family in Pakistan at the age of nine. He studied Arabic grammar, logic, rhetoric, jurisprudence, hadith, tafsir and other popular sciences in various Afghan refugees’ religious schools and graduated with a degree in religious studies.
He is an important Taliban official who held various posts in the past, including minister of Information and Culture. His current whereabout is said to be somewhere in Pakistan. He was the Taliban representative in UN-led talks under the Taliban regime.

Another person being suspected of leaking the information about a posh house in Shirpur where al-Zawahiri stayed in Kabul and was killed by a drone strike is Afghanistan’s Foreign Affairs Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi.
